For the Love of Art
My art journey continues in motion as I move back and forth from representational to abstract work. I prefer rich buttery oils for painting portraits, animals, and landscapes, but I love the versatility of acrylic for abstract and multimedia works.
I am dedicated to working in series and continue to expand my collection of “Northern Lights”. I am fascinated by the natural intensity and movement of the northern lights. While green and yellow are the most typical of Southern Alberta, the world has seen glorious northern lights in pinks, reds, purples, and orange which I like to capture in my work.
My current series, “Inspired by Fashion” explores the connection between fashion design and abstract art. I love how some designers combine a strong use of contrasting geometric patterns, lines, and organic shapes with varying textures in both color, metallic, and black and white fashion designs. I am inclined to pursue more abstract art as it allows for greater creative expression, reflecting both my passion, energy and LOVE of ART.
